PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia Tbk and the Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH) have collaborated to launch the Indonesian Hajj Card, designed to replace cash usage and support the digitalisation of hajj and umrah services in the Holy Land. Bank Muamalat President Director Imam Teguh Saptono stated in Jakarta on Monday that the initiative aims to provide greater ease and comfort for pilgrims. He added that hajj registration access has been expanded through the Muamalat DIN mobile banking application, all Bank Muamalat branch offices, and the Pos Indonesia network nationwide. Imam noted that Muamalat DIN also features a Hajj Bank service for hajj fee registration and settlement, as well as checking registration history and hajj benefit values. He said Bank Muamalat and BPKH have agreed to continue joint events, including national and international programmes related to outreach, dissemination, and fundraising. BPKH has also appointed Bank Muamalat as one of the sharia banks providing custodian services. Imam emphasised that this synergy represents a mutual support effort, particularly as the hajj and umrah ecosystem generates significant multiplier effects across various economic and social sectors. The two institutions are also conducting a Synergy Roadshow 2026 across six major cities—Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, Yogyakarta, Makassar, and Medan—from July to August 2026 to evaluate regional business performance. The forum brings together regional leaders and sales teams to communicate strategy, business priorities, and management directives to enhance team capabilities and identify growth opportunities in each region. Imam stressed the importance of sustainable growth, noting that Bank Muamalat is focusing its business strategy on the more resilient retail segment, including consumer and SME financing, while maintaining healthy corporate segment development. The bank’s flagship consumer product, Solusi Emas Hijrah financing, surged more than eleven-fold year-on-year to Rp1.7 trillion by the end of March 2026, with the number of accounts rising 274 percent. SME financing outstanding reached Rp3.1 trillion, a 33 percent increase from the previous year, reflecting the sector’s crucial role in supporting national economic stability and its favourable risk distribution.
