Bank Mega Syariah's pre-tax profit grows 51.67% in Q1 2026
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Bank Mega Syariah recorded a 51.67% year-on-year growth in pre-tax profit, from Rp52.72 billion in the first quarter of 2025 to Rp79.97 billion in the first quarter of 2026. This performance improvement was primarily supported by the growth in income after profit-sharing distribution, which reached Rp191.60 billion, an increase of more than 20% year-on-year. Head of the Corporate Secretary Division at Bank Mega Syariah, Hanie Dewita, stated in Jakarta on Tuesday that this achievement resulted from the company’s focus on strengthening business fundamentals and enhancing operational efficiency. “We continue to optimise our business strategy by maintaining a balance between financing growth and fund cost management. At the same time, we are also strengthening customer services through product innovation and ecosystem synergy,” said Hanie. In line with this, the total third-party funds mobilised by the company exceeded Rp10 trillion. The company stated that it continues to strengthen its financing business, as reflected in the growth of income based on receivables and profit-sharing. Income from receivables increased to more than Rp118 billion, or around 40.9% growth year-on-year. Meanwhile, profit-sharing income also rose by about 4.7% year-on-year to more than Rp114.73 billion. This strategy also contributed to margin improvement, as reflected in the rise of Net Yield (NI) to 5.85% from the previous 4.04%. In addition, operational efficiency showed improvement with the operational expense to operational income ratio (BOPO) at 76.90%, down from 85.08% in the same period the previous year. On the other hand, the bank’s capitalisation remains strong with a Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) of 27.63%. The company also continues to monitor financing risk dynamics.
