Bank Mega Syariah Transactions Reach Rp243 Billion During Ramadan
Public transaction activities during Ramadan 1447 Hijriah have increased. Bank Mega Syariah (BMS) recorded digital transaction values exceeding Rp243 billion with more than 230,000 transactions throughout the fasting month.
This surge reflects the high demand from the public for transactions, ranging from daily necessities shopping, payments, to sharing with others. The convenience of digital services allows transactions to be conducted more quickly and practically.
The most widely used features among the public include transfers, QRIS payments, and digital wallet top-ups. QRIS usage even showed significant growth, with the number of transactions increasing by more than 65 percent and the volume rising by more than 58 percent compared to last Ramadan.
Benadicto Alvonzo Ferary, Head of Digital Business & Product Management Division at Bank Mega Syariah, stated that Ramadan serves as an important momentum for boosting transaction activities.
“During Ramadan, transaction needs increase, and the public is increasingly relying on digital services for convenience and speed,” he said in a statement on Monday (13/4/2026).
Amid the rise in transactions, public interest in saving has also grown. Up to 21 March 2026, approximately 5,600 new accounts were recorded with total third-party funds (DPK) reaching more than Rp709 billion.
This growth, he continued, is driven by the ease of online account opening as well as community-based approaches conducted in various regions. Through study sessions and direct interactions, the public is becoming more familiar with Islamic financial services in everyday life.
