Bank Mantap Supports Go Green Campaign in Schools
Bank Mandiri Taspen has provided a ready-to-drink water machine to SMA Dharma Wanita 1 Pare in Kediri Regency. The facility, valued at Rp42.4 million, is expected to support students’ drinking water needs while reducing the use of single-use plastic packaging within the school environment.
The assistance was symbolically handed over to the Chairwoman of the Dharma Wanita Foundation of Kediri Regency, Eriani Annisa Hanindhito, during an event held at the Simpang Lima Gumul Convention Hall in Kediri on Sunday (14/6/2026).
Division Head of Strategic Digital & Corporate Transformation at Bank Mandiri Taspen, Iwan Kurniawan, stated that the provision of the water machine is part of the company’s corporate social responsibility programme targeting the education and environmental sectors.
“Mineral water is one of the basic needs of students to support their learning activities. We tried to elaborate on this basic need with the go green campaign programme. From there, the idea emerged to provide this ready-to-drink water machine,” said Iwan.
According to Iwan, the facility is expected to help reduce the use of bottled drinking water, which is still widely used in school environments.
“This ready-to-drink water machine for SMA Dharma Wanita 1 Pare also serves as our concrete support for the go green campaign, especially in reducing the consumption of single-use plastic bottled water,” he said.
Head of SMA Dharma Wanita 1 Pare, Ahmad Riziq Mubarok, said the assistance would support the needs of students living in the school dormitory. According to him, the need for healthy and hygienic drinking water is one of the main requirements in the students’ daily activities.
“Our students are in a boarding school, where their activities are practically carried out 24 hours a day within the school environment. Automatically, the need and supply of healthy and hygienic mineral water is very high every day,” said Riziq.
He hopes the facility will not only improve access to safe drinking water but also encourage more environmentally friendly habits among students. The use of refillable water machines is considered to help reduce plastic waste from single-use bottles while supporting waste reduction campaigns in educational settings.
