Bank Mandiri to Restore Account of Pati Resident Botok
PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (BMRI) will reactivate the account belonging to Supriyono, also known as Botok, which had previously been subject to a transaction suspension. The account can be used again after the Jakarta Metropolitan Police (Polda Metro Jaya) carried out clarification regarding the collection of funds entering the account.
Bank Mandiri President Director Riduan stated that the bank would immediately follow up on the direction conveyed by Polda Metro Jaya and Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) to reactivate the account.
“As a bank that serves customers with consequences regulated by law, we will follow up, Mr Director of General Criminal Investigation, on what was conveyed earlier to immediately reactivate the account that was previously subject to a transaction suspension,” Riduan said at a press conference in Jakarta on Wednesday (26/8/2026).
Director of General Criminal Investigation at Polda Metro Jaya, Senior Commissioner Iman Imannudin, said that the police had asked Bank Mandiri to suspend transactions on Botok’s account. This stemmed from clarification of information circulating on social media.
According to him, the step was taken to provide protection to the account holder and the donors who provided funds.
“Why is that? Because in the collection of donations, there are statutory provisions that regulate so that both donors and donation recipients obtain legal protection from the state,” he said.
Subsequently, the police carried out clarification and confirmation of the existing facts. As a result, the account can be reopened.
“After we confirmed with various parties related to the legal event, today we announce that the transaction suspension can now be lifted,” Iman said.
He explained that although under the provisions a transaction suspension can be carried out for up to five working days and that period had not yet ended, the police chose to move quickly after obtaining the necessary legal facts. Accordingly, it is now within Bank Mandiri’s authority to carry out the reactivation.
