Bank Mandiri Taspen Partners with UGM to Boost Banking Service Innovation

PT Bank Mandiri Taspen is collaborating with Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) to integrate comprehensive banking services with the strengthening of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education in order to produce outstanding national talent. The signing of the MoU was carried out by the President Director of Bank Mandiri Taspen, Panji Irawan, together with the Rector of UGM, Prof. Ova Emilia, at the UGM Campus in Yogyakarta on Friday (10/4/2026). Panji Irawan emphasised that this cooperation represents a tangible synergy between the banking sector and higher education as a centre of innovation. “This signing is not merely a ceremony, but our commitment to supporting UGM’s operations to be more efficient through integrated banking solutions. On the other hand, we are also opening opportunities for students to hone practical competencies in the financial industry,” Panji stated in his remarks on Friday, 10 April 2026. Through this collaboration, both parties hope to create a mutually supportive ecosystem between the world of education and industry, while encouraging the emergence of competitive human resources ready to face global challenges. In addition, this cooperation is considered unique because it can provide support for retired UGM employees. Various programmes will be developed, ranging from internship opportunities to special programmes for former employees. UGM has also implemented several initiatives for retirees, such as the Poswindu health programme that has been actively running, as well as providing “Rumah Senior” as a space for activities so that former employees remain productive and empowered. “We hope that the steps started on this auspicious day can continue to provide broad benefits for society, the nation, and the country,” Panji said. The Rector of Universitas Gadjah Mada, Prof. Ova Emilia, welcomed this synergy as a strategic step in strengthening the financial ecosystem within the campus environment. According to her, the cooperation that has been established for approximately 10 years has proven to provide real benefits and is now extended because it is deemed increasingly strategic in the future. She also expressed appreciation for the collaboration that has been running well so far. This synergy is expected not only to improve operational efficiency in the UGM environment but also to contribute to supporting the Golden Indonesia vision through the development of competitive human resources at the global level.
