Bank Mandiri Secures Multiple Honours at FinanceAsia Awards 2026
Bank Mandiri has once again gained regional recognition by securing multiple honours at the FinanceAsia Awards 2026 and the FinanceAsia Asia’s Best Companies Poll 2026. The awards highlight the bank’s commitment to strengthening sustainable business growth through digital-based financial services, enhanced investor confidence, and the integration of sustainability principles. Senior Vice President of the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Group at Bank Mandiri, Monica Yoanita Octavia, stated that the achievements reflect the success of the bank’s strategic initiatives in business performance, governance, digital innovation, sustainability, and financial inclusion. “This award is an appreciation of the hard work of all Mandirians in delivering financial services that are relevant, adaptive, and impactful. For Bank Mandiri, this is not merely an achievement, but a motivation to continue strengthening our contribution to customers, business players, investors, and the wider community,” she said in a written statement on Thursday (9/7/2026). In the FinanceAsia Awards 2026, Bank Mandiri won in several prestigious categories covering banking performance, customer service, technology innovation, and sustainability. Additionally, through the FinanceAsia Asia’s Best Companies Poll 2026, the bank was recognised for its ESG implementation, digital transformation, corporate governance, investor relations, and management leadership. Monica noted that these accolades demonstrate the bank’s success in maintaining its position as a national financial institution with strong competitiveness. By strengthening its wholesale and retail business, accelerating digitalisation, and consistently supporting sustainability, Bank Mandiri continues to deliver comprehensive financial solutions. On the sustainability front, the bank secured three specific awards: Best Sustainable Bank, Best Bank for Financial Inclusion, and Most Committed to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Gold. The Best Sustainable Bank award acknowledges the integration of ESG principles into the bank’s business processes and operations, supported by the growth of its sustainable financing portfolio and the implementation of Environmental and Social Risk Management (ESRM). The bank is also developing financing and funding solutions to support the transition to a low-carbon economy, aligning with Indonesia’s target of achieving Net Zero Emissions by 2060 or sooner. Furthermore, Bank Mandiri is reinforcing its environmentally friendly operations by targeting Net Zero Emissions for its operational activities by 2030, through green building initiatives, the use of electric and hybrid vehicles, the installation of solar panels at various operational sites, and the construction of charging stations. The Best Bank for Financial Inclusion award reflects the bank’s efforts to expand access to financial services through its digital ecosystem, branchless banking network, and empowerment programmes via Livin’ by Mandiri and Livin’ Merchant. These efforts are further supported by initiatives such as Mandiri Agen, Mandiri Pintar, and the Mandiri Sahabatku programme for Indonesian migrant workers. The Most Committed to DEI award highlights the bank’s consistency in fostering an inclusive work environment, implementing equitable pay ratios, and strengthening its work culture through the Respectful Workplace Policy (RWP). Bank Mandiri’s sustainability commitment is also evidenced by its MSCI ESG Rating of AA and a Sustainalytics ESG Risk Rating of 9.5, placing the bank in the negligible risk category. “Going forward, Bank Mandiri will continue to strengthen its sustainable business transformation by embedding sustainability principles into every aspect of its operations and strategy. We believe that sustainable growth must go hand in hand with a real contribution to society, the environment, and the national economy,” Monica concluded.
