Bank Mandiri Reaffirms Commitment to Supporting SMEs, Here's the Proof
PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk. (BMRI) has stated it will prioritise synergies to advance the nation. Bank Mandiri’s President Director, Riduan, said this is being achieved through strengthening the focus on SME and creative economy synergies, as well as bolstering digital ecosystem synergies.
This focus is not only about expanding financing access but also connecting business actors to broader markets, transactions, and value chains.
Through these synergies, Riduan stated that Bank Mandiri is not merely a financing provider but a driver of all layers of the national economic ecosystem, encouraging SMEs to upgrade and accelerating digital-based financial inclusion.
“This focus forms the foundation of Bank Mandiri’s movement, namely to act with impact, where business expansion is carried out in a targeted, productive, and integrative manner,” Riduan said during the virtual presentation of Bank Mandiri’s Q1 2026 performance on Tuesday (21/4/2026).
As of Q1 2026, Bank Mandiri’s total credit grew 17.4% year-on-year (yoy), nearly double the relative growth of the industry. Riduan said this credit growth is also focused on driving real economic activity, particularly in productive and labour-intensive sectors.
He detailed that Bank Mandiri’s SME credit growth reached 5.27% yoy, far better compared to the contraction in SME credit growth across the banking industry.
On the same occasion, Bank Mandiri’s Corporate Banking Director, Mochamad Rizaldi, said the credit growth for SMEs, micro, and individual segments at the bank with the golden ribbon logo is well-distributed and consistent, reaching all Indonesian people, even to the outermost islands. According to him, all growth by Bank Mandiri is at positive levels and not concentrated in a specific area.
“Going forward, Bank Mandiri will continue to be present to support SME actors through financing, mentoring, and strengthening ecosystem access as mentioned earlier, through a focus on SME and creative economy synergies, as well as digital ecosystem synergies,” Rizaldi emphasised.
