Jakarta - PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (BMRI) posted stellar performance throughout the first half of 2026. The state-owned bank recorded a net profit of Rp30.4 trillion up to June 2026, growing 24.4% year-on-year (yoy).

Bank Mandiri President Director Riduan stated that this achievement was inseparable from the resilience of the domestic economy amidst global economic dynamics still marked by uncertainty. He noted that Indonesia’s economic growth in the second quarter of 2026 is projected to remain above 5% yoy, supported by solid domestic economic activity and an increasingly strong government fiscal performance, both in terms of revenue and spending.

“With these fundamentals, we hope the rupiah exchange rate can show a strengthening trend, thereby maintaining investor confidence,” said Riduan during the second quarter 2026 performance presentation held online on Thursday (23/7/2026).

Riduan revealed that Bank Mandiri’s commitment to supporting the national economy is reflected in credit growth that is far above the industry average. BMRI’s total credit grew 19.9% yoy to Rp1,592 trillion, nearly double the national banking industry’s credit growth rate.

Riduan said this growth remained focused on productive and labour-intensive real economic activities. This is illustrated by credit to the MSME segment, which grew approximately nine times faster than the industry’s growth.

In terms of fund accumulation, BMRI’s Third-Party Funds (DPK) also grew solidly by 17.1%, above the industry growth level. The company’s asset quality was also maintained, with a non-performing loan (NPL) ratio far below the industry average, at a level of 0.15%.

Based on ecosystem segments, credit to the government and state-owned enterprise ecosystem grew 41.6% yoy, credit to the business ecosystem supporting the economy grew 17.7% yoy, while credit to the people’s MSME ecosystem grew 15.7% yoy.

“This solid performance and fundamentals make us optimistic that BMRI can deliver a positive, healthy, and significant contribution in strengthening and driving a sustainable national economy,” said Riduan.
