Bank Jatim Helps Three East Java SMEs Explore the Aceh Market
Surabaya, East Java (ANTARA) – PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (Bank Jatim) has helped three of its supported micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) showcase their leading products and explore trade opportunities in Aceh through the East Java Trade and Investment Mission.
Bank Jatim President Director Winardi Legowo said the company’s participation in the trade mission represented a contribution by the banking sector to connecting East Java’s leading products with prospective buyers in other regions, while expanding opportunities for interregional trade cooperation.
“Bank Jatim views this Trade and Investment Mission as a strategic opportunity to connect the potential of MSMEs with wider market opportunities,” he said in a statement in Surabaya on Friday.
The three MSMEs supported by the bank were Masnia Collection from Pasuruan, which produces embroidered clothing; Sharleez Skincare from Surabaya, which offers skincare products; and Batik Gajah Mungkur from Gresik, which sells batik products.
Through their participation, Bank Jatim is giving the businesses an opportunity to present their products directly to prospective buyers and business partners in Aceh, while exploring potential transactions that could extend the market reach of East Java products.
Winardi said that banking support for MSMEs should be accompanied by improved market access, so businesses have not only the capacity to expand production but also the opportunity to increase sales and build partnerships beyond their home region.
Meanwhile, East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa said trade missions were a strategic instrument for connecting regions with commodities to regions needing supplies, shortening distribution chains and expanding markets for leading domestic products.
Khofifah said the trade mission’s transaction results were supported by a process that vetted businesses and products at least twice, as well as at least five business-matching sessions, including online meetings, to connect production capacity with market demand.
The transactions worth Rp1.21 trillion recorded during the mission, she said, offered businesses in both provinces opportunities to develop trade and investment cooperation that could be followed up on sustainably.
