Bank Jatim Focuses on Lending to East Java Industrial Segments
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (BJTM) states that credit distribution will continue to focus on the business industries present in the East Java region.
The Director of Finance, Treasury, and Global Services at Bank Jatim, RM Wahyukusumo Wisnubroto, said that industries in East Java are considered highly resilient compared to those in West Java and Bekasi (Jababeka).
“We have many industries such as consumer goods, then food and beverage, and so on, which are relatively more resilient compared to industries like electronics, automotive, and others,” he stated during the Public Presentation of Bank Jatim’s 2025 Financial Performance on Monday (30/3/2026).
He added that credit distribution to business sectors in East Java will also target the agricultural segment.
“East Java is also the national food barn; as the national food barn, agriculture and livestock are on average national suppliers, both in agriculture such as rice and in livestock like chickens, cattle, and milk,” he explained.
Regarding geopolitical conditions, Bank Jatim claims the impact felt is not very significant on banking business activities.
“Not as significant as some banks that are oriented towards economic relations with foreign countries, for example, exports and imports,” he revealed.
Conversely, Bank Jatim has an orientation towards credit distribution to consumer and micro-credit segments.
“There will indeed be some impact on the micro and small segments, but with the strengthening that has been conveyed, the resilience of East Java,” he stated.
