Bank Jatim Chief 'Shows Off' Regional Bank Synergy Success Through KUB

The CNBC Indonesia Regional Bank Summit 2026, themed ‘Strategic Transformation of BPD in Driving National Development’, brought together regulators, regional development bank (BPD) leaders, and stakeholders. The forum discussed institutional transformation to support national development and the economy. Agus Haryoto Widodo, President Director of Bank Jakarta and Chairman of ASBANDA, expressed optimism regarding Indonesia’s economic growth, which reached 5.29% in the second quarter of 2026. This positive performance is reflected in the banking sector’s ability to maintain growth in assets, credit, and profitability. Credit growth rose to 12.67% as of June 2026, primarily driven by investment and working capital loans, followed by consumer credit, although BPDs remain cautious about business expansion. Bank Jatim President Director Winardi Legowo noted that the first-half 2026 economic growth reflects strong fundamentals capable of supporting the banking industry amidst high global uncertainty. Throughout the first half of 2026, Bank Jatim managed to sustain asset and profit growth, despite challenges in third-party funds. The bank also optimised synergy among BPDs through the Bank Jatim Kelompok Usaha Bank (KUB), which includes Bank NTB Syariah, Bank NTT, Bank Banten, Bank Sultra, and Bank Lampung, to strengthen the banking structure and enhance the competitiveness of regional banks.
