Bank Jateng supports financing ecosystem for SMK Go Global programme
Bank Jateng is supporting the financing ecosystem and banking services for prospective Indonesian migrant workers through the SMK Go Global programme.
Bank Jateng President Director Bambang Widyatmoko said in Semarang on Wednesday that the SMK Go Global programme presents an opportunity for banks to play a broader role in supporting the readiness of prospective migrant workers.
“Not only through financing, but also through integrated financial services,” he said.
He explained that the programme is not solely an effort to improve workforce competence and readiness, but also forms part of the financing ecosystem and banking services for prospective Indonesian migrant workers.
He expressed hope that SMK Go Global will be able to produce a young generation that is competent, work-ready, independent and competitive at the global level.
Bank Jateng’s support, he continued, is provided from the initial stage of participants joining the programme, starting from account opening, education on banking services and remittances, through to the disbursement of placement financing for participants who meet the requirements.
He assured that Bank Jateng continues to apply prudential principles by considering the certainty of placement and employment contracts of participants in the disbursement of financing.
“In providing financing, certainty of placement or employment contracts is of course required,” he said.
Bank Jateng, he continued, also sees the potential of migrant worker remittance transactions as an important part of building a sustainable financial services ecosystem.
“We want to build a sustainable ecosystem, from account opening, remittance transactions, placement financing, through to when migrant workers return to Indonesia and start building businesses,” he said.
The SMK Go Global programme targets the preparation of 500,000 competent workers for various sectors with job opportunities in the global market.
For the Central Java region, the programme targets 6,800 participants, divided into Batch 1 of 1,660 people and Batch 2 of 5,140 people.
Registration for the programme has been open since 12 August 2026, with training scheduled to begin on 26 August 2026 and an initial placement target at the end of September 2026.
