Bank Jakarta Promotes Saving Culture Among Students
Bank Jakarta is encouraging saving habits and financial management understanding among students through various educational activities and banking services. This effort is carried out through the implementation of the One Account One Student (KEJAR) programme initiated by the Financial Services Authority (OJK).
Bank Jakarta President Director Agus H Widodo said that access to financial services needs to be accompanied by an understanding of financial management from school age. One of the efforts made by Bank Jakarta is through the SimPel (Student Savings) product. The product is used to support financial education and inclusion while encouraging saving habits from an early age.
Agus said that Bank Jakarta is also strengthening cooperation with regional governments, the OJK, and educational units to expand access to financial services for students.
Meanwhile, Bank Jakarta Corporate Secretary Arie Rinaldi said that the implementation of KEJAR is not only related to account ownership, but also the formation of habits in managing finances. “For Bank Jakarta, the KEJAR Programme is not only about account ownership, but also how to build saving habits and improve students’ understanding of the importance of financial management from an early age,” Arie said in a press release on Saturday (29/8/2026).
Financial education is also carried out through Bank Goes to School activities. Bank Jakarta became a finalist in the Most Active Bank in Implementing Bank Goes to School category at the KEJAR Award 2026.
At the Peak of Indonesia Saving Day and Financial Literacy Month 2026 organised by the OJK at Sekolah Rakyat Menengah Atas 13 Bekasi on Friday (28/8/2026), Bank Jakarta won the KEJAR Award 2026 as the Best KEJAR Implementing Bank in the Regional Development Bank (BPD) category for the Java-Bali region.
On the same occasion, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government received an award as the Best KEJAR Implementing Region at the Provincial Level for the Java-Bali region. SLBN 02 Jakarta, which is a partner of Bank Jakarta, was also a finalist in the Best KEJAR Implementing Special School Education Unit category.
