Bank Jakarta Continues Support for DKI Jakarta Regional Government's Free Mudik Programme
Bank Jakarta has renewed its support for the 2026 Free Mudik Lebaran (homecoming) Programme implemented by the Transportation Department of DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. This support is materialised through the provision of 20 buses with various mudik destinations, launched alongside a total of 709 buses coordinated by DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung, Acting Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Department Ujang Harmawan, and Bank Jakarta President Director Agus H. Widodo, along with several directors of DKI Jakarta state-owned enterprises at Monas Circle, Jakarta on 17 March.
President Director of Bank Jakarta, Agus H. Widodo, explained that the support represents Bank Jakarta’s commitment to providing safe and comfortable transport for DKI Jakarta residents undertaking mudik.
As a state-owned enterprise of DKI Jakarta, Agus stated that Bank Jakarta’s support for the 2026 Free Mudik Lebaran programme demonstrates sustained synergy with DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to facilitate residents’ homecoming journeys to their home towns.
The Free Mudik Programme is an annual initiative implemented by the Transportation Department to provide DKI Jakarta residents with free homecoming opportunities to reunite with family.
The number of buses provided by DKI Jakarta Provincial Government for free mudik in 2026 totals 709 vehicles, an increase from the initial plan of 667. This fleet expansion was necessitated by a surge in DKI Jakarta residents undertaking mudik, reaching 30,774 passengers against an initial estimate of 26,000 travellers.
Bank Jakarta provided a total of 20 buses with destinations to Semarang, Solo, Lampung, Sidoarjo, Kediri, Yogyakarta, Purwokerto, and Wonogiri. This number represents an increase compared to buses provided by Bank Jakarta last year.
Besides Bank Jakarta, other state-owned enterprises supporting free mudik include PT Transportasi Jakarta, PT MRT Jakarta, PT LRT Jakarta, PAM Jaya, and PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol.
Beyond supporting the free mudik programme, Bank Jakarta has established a dedicated mudik assistance post located at Rest Area KM 429 Semarang from 14–20 March 2026.
This post is configured to provide rest facilities and services for homebound travellers undertaking journeys to various locations on Java Island. Through the post, mudik participants can utilise various amenities including rest areas, massage chairs, complimentary WiFi, and free mobile charging stations.
Additionally, Bank Jakarta is offering various promotional packages and attractive programmes available to mudik travellers, including special merchandise for new account openings, and cashback for transactions using QRIS through JakOne Mobile Bank Jakarta.
Bank Jakarta Company Secretary, Arie Rinaldi, stated that support for the 2026 Free Mudik Lebaran Programme represents one form of Bank Jakarta’s appreciation for public trust in the institution.
“Through providing support for the 2026 Free Mudik Lebaran Programme, Bank Jakarta is expected to further strengthen its relationship with the community,” Arie said.
Mudik destinations served include Semarang, Kebumen, Solo, Yogyakarta, Wonogiri, and Sidoarjo, with both bus and motorcycle transport options available.
