Digitalisation is a crucial factor in the development of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Beyond expanding market access, the use of technology helps business owners obtain financing, improve efficiency, and strengthen competitiveness amidst increasingly tight economic rivalry.

Efforts to encourage the digital transformation of MSMEs are gaining attention from various parties, including local government and the banking sector. One such appreciation was evident at the Cita Loka Fest 2026, a national collaborative forum held in Jakarta on Tuesday (24/6/2026).

At the event, Bank Jakarta received the ‘Business Entity Driving MSME Digital Empowerment’ award for its support of MSME development through the Jakpreneur programme and various digital initiatives. The award recognised the bank’s efforts to broaden financing access, enhance financial literacy, and promote the use of digital technology among business owners. Meanwhile, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government received the ‘Best Region in Building Responsive Governance’ award through its Jakarta Smart City innovation.

DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung stated that regional development is not solely measured by physical construction, but also by the government’s ability to understand the needs of its citizens. ‘For me, if Jakarta wants to be advanced, safe, and comfortable, the most important thing besides building infrastructure is listening to what its citizens want. So, building is not just about physical construction,’ Pramono said, according to a press release on Thursday (25/6/2026).

Cita Loka Fest 2026 is a national collaborative forum carrying the theme ‘Strengthening Roots for a Beautiful Indonesia’. The event involved various stakeholders, from central and regional governments, international organisations, universities, communities, MSME players, to companies from various sectors.

For MSME players, access to financial services and technology is a key factor in expanding their businesses. Digitalisation enables business owners to reach more consumers, manage transactions more efficiently, and gain access to various financing services.

Bank Jakarta President Director Agus H Widodo said the award serves as motivation to continue providing banking services and solutions that support MSME development. ‘This award motivates us to continue delivering innovative banking services and solutions for MSME players. Bank Jakarta will continue to strengthen its role as a strategic partner for MSMEs through various financing products, digital banking services, and collaboration with various parties to create a more inclusive and competitive business ecosystem,’ said Agus.

Bank Jakarta Corporate Secretary Arie Rinaldi said the awards received by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government and Bank Jakarta demonstrate strong synergy in promoting sustainable regional development. ‘Bank Jakarta is committed to supporting digital transformation and community business empowerment so they can grow sustainably and have a positive impact on the regional and national economy. This award further strengthens our commitment to expanding financial access for MSME players and encouraging the use of digital technology to enhance business competitiveness,’ Arie stated.

As of the first quarter of 2026, Bank Jakarta’s MSME lending and financing reached Rp10.46 trillion, growing 26.27 percent year-on-year. Of this amount, 2,208 debtors are business owners participating in the Jakpreneur programme.
