Bank Indonesia’s booth drew attention at the Jogja Financial Festival 2026 at the Jogja Expo Center in Yogyakarta, Central Java, on Friday 22 May 2026. Through its Consumer Protection Division, BI aims to educate the public about the various fraud methods currently in operation and how to anticipate threats to foster a public attitude that resists these criminal schemes. It should be noted that fraudsters today often exploit the psychology of their targets. To address this, BI conducted a social experiment at the Jogja Financial Festival 2026 booth. In addition, BI introduced a board to assess factors that influence a person when faced with fraud, such as panic, fear, being enticed by a scam offer, and greed. Education was also delivered in the form of a quiz, through which BI aims to measure the public’s understanding of digital vigilance and financial literacy. Participants who completed the quiz had a chance to win prizes including a notebook, pen, and a lanyard. At BI’s booth, high school students from Yogyakarta and surrounding areas were seen taking part in a Rupiah money-stacking game, competing for prizes such as tumblers and t-shirts.
