Bank Indonesia’s (BI) Representative Office (KPw BI) in Cirebon, West Java, has prepared 3.89 trillion rupiah in circulating currency to meet public demand for cash exchange during Ramadhan and ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1447 H across its operational area.

Wihujeng Ayu Rengganis, Head of BI Cirebon, stated on Monday that the cash amount represents a 25.8 per cent increase compared with 2025’s realisation of 3.09 trillion rupiah.

The increase in prepared funds is intended to accommodate heightened public demand for cash in Cirebon, Indramayu, Majalengka and Kuningan (collectively known as Ciayumajakuning) during Ramadhan and ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1447 H.

BI Cirebon provides currency exchange services through mobile cash offices and coordinated exchange programmes in partnership with several banks operating in the region. The coordinated exchange initiative involves collaboration with nine banks across Ciayumajakuning.

During Ramadhan 1447 H, BI has arranged 14,900 exchange packages available from 23 February to 13 March 2026. During the coordinated exchange events, BI provides approximately 1,000 exchange packages daily across four days of operation.

As of 6 March 2026, currency exchange realisations across Ciayumajakuning reached approximately 39 billion rupiah and are expected to increase as exchange services continue at various locations.

In each exchange package, members of the public can exchange up to a maximum of 5.3 million rupiah per person, an increase from the previous year’s limit of 4.8 million rupiah.

To facilitate public access, BI has implemented an online currency exchange booking system through the PINTAR mobile application, ensuring customers receive guaranteed exchange services.
