Bank Indonesia Tegal Prepares Rp5.3 Trillion in Cash for Eid 2026
Bank Indonesia’s Regional Office (KPw) in Tegal is preparing cash requirements totalling Rp5.3 trillion to meet demand during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah (Eid 2026). This represents an increase of approximately 9 per cent compared to the previous year’s actual disbursement of Rp4.8 trillion.
The BI Tegal working area covers the former Pekalongan Residency in Central Java, encompassing Brebes, Tegal, Pemalang, Pekalongan, and Batang regencies. The provision of cash is intended to ensure adequate rupiah availability during the Ramadan to Eid period, when public demand for smaller denominations increases significantly.
In addition to preparing cash funds, BI Tegal is collaborating with commercial banks and strategic partners through 61 currency exchange service points distributed across the former Pekalongan Residency. These services form part of the SERAMBI 2026 initiative, themed “Rupiah Brings Meaning in a Month of Blessings” this year.
The theme reflects BI’s commitment to providing safe, easily accessible rupiah currency services that meet public needs during the Eid 2026 period.
Bimala, Head of BI Tegal’s Regional Office, expressed appreciation to all commercial banks and strategic partners for their collaboration in implementing the programme. “This synergy is crucial to ensure that public cash requirements are met in sufficient quantities, appropriate denominations, and equitable distribution across the Bank Indonesia Tegal working area,” Bimala said in an official statement released on Friday (27 February 2026).
To enhance service convenience, the public is required to book currency exchanges in advance through the PINTAR (Penukaran dan Tarik Uang Rupiah – Currency Exchange and Withdrawal) web-based application, accessible via pintar.bi.go.id.
“The use of the PINTAR platform is expected to reduce queues at exchange locations, improve service efficiency, and ensure more equitable distribution of currency exchange services,” Bimala explained.
Information regarding booking guidance, schedules, and currency exchange service locations is also available through BI Tegal’s official social media channels, including the Instagram account @bank_indonesia_tegal.
