Bank Indonesia (BI) has set a ceiling on the amount of money that can be exchanged in preparation for the Idul Fitri 1447 H/2026 celebrations. The limit stands at Rp5,300,000 in various denominations per person, from Rp1,000 to Rp50,000, BI senior analyst Fenty Tirtasari Ekarina said in Jakarta on Wednesday (4 March 2026). She spoke during a podcast titled ‘Jaga Harga, Jaga Rupiah: Pengendalian Inflasi Jelang HBKN bersama SERAMBI 2026’. In the Jakarta region, BI will supply Rp52.6 trillion in physical cash through banks. Of this total, Rp1.8 trillion can be exchanged through the Serambi Ramadan and Berkah Idul Fitri (Serambi) 2026 service. The service operates at 3,191 exchange sites in DKI Jakarta, in cooperation with 21 banks in the Jakarta area. ‘The locations include mosques, bank offices and integrated mobile cash kiosks,’ Fenty said.
