Bank Indonesia Safeguards Rupiah Amid Conflict - US Debt Surpasses 648 Quadrillion Rupiah
Bank Indonesia (BI) has responded to the escalation of conflict in the Middle East and its effects on global financial markets. BI stated that it will continue monitoring market developments and safeguarding the stability of the rupiah exchange rate.
Meanwhile, the United States national debt continues to expand. Based on data released by the US Congress Joint Economic Committee, the US debt position has increased to USD 38.56 trillion, or approximately 648.47 quadrillion rupiah (based on an exchange rate assumption of Rp 16,817) as of 4 February 2026.
