Bank Indonesia Reports 12.67% Credit Growth in June 2026
Bank Indonesia (BI) stated that the role of bank lending in supporting economic growth continues to increase. This is reflected in the development of bank credit, which continued its double-digit growth in June 2026. “Bank lending growth in June 2026 was recorded at 12.67 percent (yoy), up from the May 2026 growth of 11.51 percent (yoy),” said BI Governor Perry Warjiyo during a virtual press conference for the BI Board of Governors Meeting in July 2026. Perry explained that, based on the type of use, this development was supported by investment credit, working capital credit, and consumer credit, which grew by 24.9 percent (yoy), 8.94 percent (yoy), and 5.75 percent (yoy) respectively. “Bank Indonesia estimates that credit growth in 2026 will be maintained in the 8-12 percent range,” he said. This prospect is supported by potential from the demand side, in line with the large amount of undisbursed loan facilities. BI noted that the value of undisbursed loans currently stands at Rp 2,490 trillion, or 21.52 percent of the available credit ceiling. Therefore, its realisation needs to be continuously encouraged to support economic financing. “From the supply side, the lending appetite also remains loose and is supported by high growth in Third Party Funds (DPK), which reached 10.21 percent (yoy),” he continued. In addition, interest rate developments are expected to encourage credit growth, including through the publication of the transparency assessment of the Prime Lending Rate (SBDK). The one-month deposit rate in June 2026 was recorded at 4.76 percent, while the lending rate in June 2026 was 8.81 percent.
