Bank Indonesia Promotes Islamic Economy Through Hijrah Sulut Fest 2026
Joko Supratikto, Head of Bank Indonesia’s North Sulawesi Regional Office, has stated that the Hijrah Sulut Fest festival will strengthen the halal, inclusive, and green economic ecosystem in the region. Hijrah Sulut Fest serves as a platform for synergy among all stakeholders in promoting a robust halal, inclusive, and green ecosystem.
“The implementation of three pillars of Islamic financial industry and Islamic financial literacy (Iklas) in North Sulawesi is reflected in the activities of the Halal, Inclusive, and Green Ramadhan Festival of North Sulawesi in 2026,” Joko stated during the opening of Hijrah Sulut Fest 2026 in Manado on Saturday, 28 February 2026.
The initiative, he noted, symbolises a collective commitment to making Ramadhan a driver of Islamic economic growth with far-reaching and sustainable impact. Through this activity, Bank Indonesia seeks to encourage the expansion of halal enterprises, broaden access to Islamic finance, increase public Islamic financial literacy, and strengthen environmental awareness.
“The hope is that North Sulawesi’s economy can grow more inclusively and sustainably, bringing blessings to all communities in 2026 and beyond,” he said.
The festival has been running from 18 February to 15 March 2026 at the Megamas Zone Car Park in Manado, North Sulawesi. The North Sulawesi Provincial Government, represented by Darwin Muksin, the Head of the Plantation Department, expressed appreciation for Bank Indonesia’s efforts in promoting Islamic economy in the region.
