Bank Indonesia Maintains Benchmark Interest Rate at 4.75%
Bank Indonesia (BI) has once again held its benchmark interest rate, or BI rate, at 4.75%. The deposit facility remains at 3.75% and the lending facility at 5.5%.
“This decision strengthens rupiah stability from the impact of worsening global conditions due to conflict and achieves the inflation target,” said BI Governor Perry Warjiyo in a press conference following the Board of Governors meeting on Tuesday, 17 March 2026.
Warjiyo explained that the bank will optimise monetary policy instruments for external resilience and implement stability measures.
“Payment system policy is directed towards supporting the economy through expanded digital payments and improved payment system infrastructure,” he added.
