Bank Indonesia Launches 'Run From Scam' Campaign to Combat Online Fraud
If you receive a suspicious phone call, message, or request for a transfer, double-check everything. It must be thoroughly verified first. If in doubt, stop and don’t rush.
Purwokerto (ANTARA) - The Purwokerto office of Bank Indonesia (BI) is launching the ‘Run From Scam’ campaign to raise awareness about scams involving phishing links and APK applications, which are designed to steal money, personal data, or access to digital accounts.
The Head of the BI Purwokerto Representative Office, Christoveny, said that current digitalisation not only brings convenience, speed, and efficiency in transactions but also carries risks in the form of increasing various types of digital crime.
She said that several methods that the public needs to be aware of include phishing links, dangerous applications or APKs containing malware, impersonation, social engineering, and requests for fund transfers or personal data from unknown parties.
She said that this education aims to improve financial literacy so that people are smarter financially, able to protect their personal data, and have greater awareness of various digital crime threats.
“We want the public to not only be healthy physically and mentally but also financially healthy and digitally safe. Let’s run away from fraud, Run From Scam,” said Christoveny.
