Bank Indonesia (BI) has launched the Kick Off for the Integrated MSME Entrepreneurship Transformation Programme 2026, in support of job creation and strengthening the people’s economy. BI Governor Perry Warjiyo stated that in the process of developing the business actors participating in this programme, there will be three stages that the MSME participants must complete. “Stage one is entrepreneurship education, and we will conduct certification. So those of you who pass now, God willing, in two and a half months we will educate you on entrepreneurship,” Perry said at the Bank Indonesia office in Thamrin, Central Jakarta, Monday, 22 June 2026. He explained that the entrepreneurship stage has two aspects that each participant must fulfil, namely perfecting the technical skills of their business and the business development capabilities of the MSMEs. “For your technical skills and business skills, in two and a half months you will all be educated on both. And we pray you pass the certification,” he said. After both aspects are met and certified, Perry explained that the next phase is a trial apprenticeship according to their expertise. For example, a barista will apprentice at a coffee shop or weaving experts will be connected with experienced designers. “So they will apprentice, trial. Truly practical. The cool term is sandboxing,” Perry said. After undergoing entrepreneurship education, the second stage is an evaluation to check whether their entrepreneurship is correct in theory and practice. For instance, a barista will be tested on whether their practice is correct and meets business needs. Meanwhile, for Islamic boarding schools that produce bottled drinking water (AMDK), they will be tested on the product processing method down to the pH level of the bottled water they produce. After passing both stages, the participants will enter the third stage, which is to be re-certified and given business capital. “So if you pass, you get another certification. After that, you are given capital. So the capital comes later. This is truly the difference from the first one. Why is it different? Because this is an integrated transformation. Integrated entrepreneurship,” he said.
