Bank Indonesia (BI) has extended the booking schedule for the second phase of rupiah currency exchange whilst increasing quotas through the PINTAR application for the Java region.

BI Communications Department Head Ramdan Denny Prakoso said the measure was taken in response to the high level of public enthusiasm for the SERAMBI (Semarak Rupiah Ramadan dan Berkah Idulfitri) 2026 programme.

With the extended schedule, rupiah currency exchange bookings in the Java region can now be made earlier, starting from 24 February 2026 at 08:00 Western Indonesian Time (WIB) until quotas are exhausted.

Previously, BI had scheduled the second phase of exchange bookings for 26 February 2026 at 08:00 WIB for the Java region.

For areas outside Java, currency exchange bookings will still commence on 27 February 2026 at 08:00 WIB until quotas run out.

The first phase of bookings was conducted on 13 February 2026 for the Java island region and from 14 February 2026 for areas outside Java.

As part of the SERAMBI 2026 programme, which runs until 15 March 2026, BI has prepared Rp185.6 trillion in fit-for-circulation cash.

Of that amount, Rp177 trillion has been allocated to meet banking needs, including cash withdrawals through ATMs and bank branch offices.

For currency exchange services, BI has this year prepared Rp8.6 trillion with a denomination value of Rp5.3 million per package.

Exchange services are available at 2,883 points with a total of 8,755 service sessions provided by BI and banks across Indonesia.

The exchange services can be accessed through various channels, including mobile cash units, commercial bank offices, and integrated exchange services at strategic locations such as places of worship and community activity centres.

Specifically for the DKI Jakarta region, integrated exchange services will be held on 12–15 March 2026 at the GBK Basketball Hall, Senayan.
