Bank Indonesia East Java Secures Rp 2.4 Trillion in Investment Commitments at EJIF 2026
The Bank Indonesia Representative Office (KPw BI) for East Java, in collaboration with the East Java Provincial Government, is driving the strengthening of strategic and sustainable investment through the East Java Investment Forum (EJIF) 2026.
Held on 1–2 October 2026 in Surabaya, the forum resulted in 12 investment commitments with a total value reaching Rp 2.4 trillion. EJIF 2026 carried the theme “Empowering East Java as Indonesia’s New Growth Engine through Strategic and Bespoke Investment”, bringing together business actors, potential investors, project owners, local governments, and financial institutions.
The Head of the Bank Indonesia Representative Office for East Java, Ibrahim, stated that the investment momentum in East Java must be continuously supported through synergy and collaboration between stakeholders. “Investment not only supports economic growth but also impacts job creation and poverty alleviation,” Ibrahim said during his opening remarks at EJIF 2026 in Surabaya.
He noted that a healthy investment climate must go hand in hand with fiscal sustainability, financial system stability, and efficient payment systems. These three aspects are considered vital components in supporting sustainable economic growth.
The Deputy Governor of East Java, Emil Elestianto Dardak, stated that the East Java Provincial Government, alongside regency and municipal governments, continues to strengthen support for investment activities. “A strong fundamental capital, particularly in the manufacturing and agricultural sectors, serves as a major investment attraction in East Java,” Emil remarked.
During EJIF 2026, East Java presented 28 Investment Project Ready to Offer (IPRO) projects, with a total investment value of Rp 73.7 trillion. These projects span several strategic sectors, including manufacturing, tourism, infrastructure, and agro-industry. In addition to the IPRO projects, the forum offered seven industrial zones and special economic zones, as well as 80 potential assets owned by local governments.
Various potential projects within the banking sector were also presented to prospective investors during the forum. EJIF 2026 was attended by domestic and international investors from several countries, including the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Australia, China, Japan, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, and Malaysia.
The event series included panel discussions featuring speakers from Danantara Indonesia, the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/BKPM, and the East Java Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin). Discussions covered the economic prospects of Indonesia and East Java, the government’s role in creating a conducive investment climate, and testimonials from businesses already operating in East Java.
Bank Indonesia East Java considers the solid East Java economy, characterised by controlled inflation, to be a crucial foundation for continued investment growth. Infrastructure support, conducive regional policies, and a large market and industrial base are factors that strengthen East Java’s position as one of Indonesia’s strategic regions for investment development.
