Ahead of Eid al-Fitr (Idul Fitri) 1447 Hijriah, many members of the public are seeking information regarding bank operational schedules during the Eid holiday period. This information is important as during this period some banking services typically experience operational adjustments, including temporary closures and limited services at certain branch offices. By knowing the schedule in advance, customers can arrange time to conduct transactions such as cash withdrawals, transfers, payments, and deposits before the holiday period begins.

Adjustments to banking services during Eid 2026 are also related to national holiday policies and joint leave provisions set by the government. In this regard, Bank Indonesia regulates the operational activities of the payment system to ensure orderly operations whilst ensuring banking service infrastructure remains available to the public during the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah holiday period.

What about other banks? When do some banks close for Eid 2026? Check the operational schedules of BI, Bank BRI, BNI, Mandiri, BSI, and BCA below.

Bank Indonesia Operations During Eid 2026

According to Bank Indonesia’s website, BI has set the period of Wednesday, 18 March 2026 through Tuesday, 24 March 2026 as a financial system operational adjustment period. During this period, several payment system services managed by the central bank will not operate, whilst some other services will continue to support public digital transactions.

All Bank Indonesia operational activities are scheduled to resume normal operations on Wednesday, 25 March 2026. During the period of 18-24 March 2026, several systems managed by Bank Indonesia will temporarily cease operations. These systems include:

  • Bank Indonesia Real Time Gross Settlement (BI-RTGS)

  • Bank Indonesia Scripless Securities Settlement System (BI-SSSS)

  • Bank Indonesia Electronic Trading Platform (BI-ETP)

All operational services of these three systems will not operate during the Eid holiday period. In addition, services at the National Clearing System Bank Indonesia (SKNBI) will also not operate during this period. Specifically for debit warrants in Zone 4 that were submitted on 17 March 2026 (H-1), settlement completion will only be conducted on 25 March 2026.

Meanwhile, Bank Indonesia Fast Payment (BI-FAST) services will continue to operate fully, so interbank transfer transactions through digital channels can still be conducted by the public.

Several other activities that will also be suspended during this period include:

  • All Bank Indonesia cash service activities

  • Indonesian Rupiah Monetary Operation transactions

  • Foreign Currency (Forex) Monetary Operation transactions

During the holiday period, the Jakarta Interbank Spot Dollar Rate (JISDOR) will not be published. Similarly, non-USD/IDR reference rates will not be published temporarily. Under these conditions, Bank Indonesia’s rate references will use the rates from the last working day before the holiday.

Additionally, interbank money market interest rate indicators such as Indonesia Overnight Index Average (INDONIA), including Compounded INDONIA and INDONIA Index, will also not be published during the holiday period.

However, the implementation of operational activities at each individual bank remains the authority of each banking institution. Therefore, each bank has different service schedules during the Eid period.
