Bank Danamon (BDMN) to Reshape Board of Directors, This Figure Set to Become President Director
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - PT Bank Danamon Indonesia Tbk (BDMN) announced a plan to overhaul its board of directors at the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (AGMS) to be held on 31 March 2026. Danamon management said the leadership changes follow the expiration of the effective terms of several directors. Among them are the President Director Daisuke Ejima, the Deputy President Director Honggo Widjojo Kangmasto, and the Commissioner Nobuya Kawasaki. ‘Then, Nobuya Kawasaki will be nominated to become the President Director of Danamon in order to obtain shareholder approval,’ as quoted in the BEI disclosure on Friday, 6 March 2026. For the record, before becoming a commissioner, Nobuya Kawasaki also served as Chief Executive for Asia Pacific, Managing Executive Officer, MUFG Bank, Ltd since April 2025 – present. He also remains active as Director of Ascend Money, Director of Globe Fintech Innovations, Inc and Director of Silvrr Technology Co., Ltd. With more than 20 years’ experience at MUFG Bank, Nobuya Kawasaki has developed strong expertise in M&A and investment banking. He has previously served as Director of Security Bank Corporation (April 2023 – May 2025), Executive Officer, and Deputy Group Head of Global Commercial Banking Business Group, MUFG Bank, Ltd (April 2023 – April 2025). Additionally, he previously served as Executive Officer and Managing Director, Head of Global Commercial Banking Planning Division, MUFG Bank, Ltd (April 2021 – March 2023), responsible for development, communication and execution of strategic inorganic initiatives. Beyond banking, Nobuya Kawasaki was responsible for securitisation business at Mitsubishi Securities, Japan (October 2002 – October 2005). He also worked in the Associate Product Development Division at Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi Ltd, Japan (September 1998 – October 2002) and as Associate at Marunouchi Branch, The Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi Ltd, Japan (April 1997 – September 1998). Nobuya Kawasaki earned a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Keio University (1995) and a Master of Mechanical Engineering from Keio University (1997).
