Bank BSN expands digital merchant penetration in Bandung
Bandung (ANTARA) — PT Bank Syariah Nasional (Bank BSN) is expanding the penetration of its Sharia digital banking services in Bandung, West Java, through the ‘Serbu Ekosistem’ Programme to encourage the use of the company’s services among entrepreneurs and merchants.
Bank BSN President Director Alex Sofjan Noor stated that the programme is part of the company’s strategy to integrate Sharia banking services with various community ecosystems, ranging from restaurants, shops, and campuses to hospitals and mosques. “One of the methods is through various ‘Serbu’ programmes, starting from Serbu Resto, Serbu Kampus, Serbu Rumah Sakit, Serbu Masjid, to Serbu Toko. Today in Bandung, we are continuing that spirit through the Serbu Ekosistem Programme,” said Alex in Bandung on Friday.
As of 31 August 2024, Bank BSN recorded assets of Rp81.5 trillion, representing a year-on-year growth of 20.75 per cent. This achievement positions the company as the second-largest Sharia bank in Indonesia in terms of assets.
Regarding digital services, the Bale Syariah mobile banking platform recorded 238,897 users with 3.29 million transactions and a transaction volume of approximately Rp6.57 trillion. The BSN QRIS service has been utilised by 2,102 merchants, with an accumulated 2.07 million transactions valued at Rp552.1 billion.
The launch of the Serbu Ekosistem Programme in Bandung, which is part of the National Customer Day series, took place at one of BSN’s merchants, Restoran Saji Marem. Through this activity, the company also gathered feedback from business owners regarding services and banking needs that can be developed to support their business activities.
The programme involves several business players from various sectors in Bandung, including PT Bestow Harapan Indah, PT Verindo Klaras Utama, Mayoutfit, Rurik, Flottilicious & Ghalibia, Belyanza, as well as the Asy-Syifa educational institution. Bank BSN hopes that the expansion of the merchant ecosystem will drive an increase in digital transactions while strengthening the penetration of Sharia banking services in the region.
