Jakarta (ANTARA) - The wife of the late bank branch manager in Jakarta, initialled MIP (37), rejected the apology request from three defendants who are Kopassus members in the alleged kidnapping and murder case of her husband.

“I beg you not to force me to forgive them at this time because it is painful for me,” said the bank branch manager’s wife, Puspita Aulia, during the additional witness examination hearing in the alleged kidnapping and murder case against a bank branch manager in Jakarta initialled MIP (37) at the Military Court II-08 Jakarta, Cakung, East Jakarta, on Monday.

Puspita stated that the actions of the three Kopassus members had broken her heart.

“What happened yesterday is something that has made my heart ache for the rest of my life,” she said.

In front of the panel of judges, Puspita revealed her suffering after her husband’s death. She now has to support her young children and bear the burden of their livelihood and mental well-being alone.

“How is a wife supposed to support her children without a husband? How will her sons and daughters cope with their mental and physical well-being if they remember their father being kidnapped, tortured until death, both at home and especially at school where it becomes a topic of conversation among friends and relatives at school,” she revealed.

Puspita also conveyed that her children continue to miss MIP as their father who is now gone. In their prayers, there is a hope that MIP can return even for a moment, as a form of longing for their closeness with their father.

“Perhaps not directly, but there was a moment when the younger sibling finished the dawn prayer and prayed. ‘O Allah, forgive father, O Allah, protect father there, O Allah, may father come here even for a short while’, because my late husband was very close to the children,” said Puspita.

The apology request was initially submitted by the legal counsel for the three defendants. The legal counsel also prayed that the soul of MIP be accepted on the side of the Almighty God.

“From our great hearts, we apologise as greatly as possible to the family of the late Mr and Mrs, can Mr and Mrs forgive the defendants even though they must be punished as severely as possible because as humans we must forgive each other so that the deceased is at peace there and the risk will be borne by the defendants for what they have done,” said the Legal Counsel.

“We from the unit apologise as greatly as possible but humanely, can the door of forgiveness be opened so that the deceased is at peace there and can accept whatever the defendants have done, so that the deceased is at peace there, Madam,” continued the Legal Counsel in the hearing.

The defendants in this case are Serka MN (defendant 1), Kopda FH (defendant 2), and Serka FY (defendant 3), who are charged with involvement in a series of kidnappings accompanied by the murder of MIP.
