Bank BNI robbed of Rp 95 million

JAKARTA (JP): Six men broke into a branch of Bank BNI in Taman Galaxi, South Bekasi and took the bank safe containing Rp 95 million.

First. Adj. Insp. Edy was quoted by Antara as saying that the men arrived at the bank branch on Saturday at 4 a.m. They forced the door open by breaking the padlock after tying up the bank security guard, Paimin, 30, with plastic rope. They also held Sulaiman, 60, a fruit vendor who was working near the bank as he witnessed the robbery.

According to police, the robbers took the two men in their Kijang van and then dumped them on the toll road in Plumpang, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta.
