Bank bjb continues to strengthen its collaboration with various strategic partners to expand the reach of banking services and provide financial solutions that are increasingly relevant to the needs of the community and the business world. This commitment is realised through a strategic synergy with PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia (KAI Commuter) in developing banking services, digital payments, and strengthening the transaction ecosystem within the public transport sector.

The synergy was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding for Banking Services and a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) between bank bjb and KAI Commuter, held on Tuesday, 15 September 2026, at the Depok KAI Commuter Depot, West Java. The event was attended by the President Director of KAI Commuter, Mochamad Purnomosady; the Finance Director of KAI Commuter, Nugroho Dwi Sasongko; the President Director of bank bjb, Ayi Subarna; the IT Director of bank bjb, M. Asadi Budiman; the Corporate and MSME Director of bank bjb, Mulyana; and management officials from both parties.

Corporate Secretary Irwan Riswandi stated that this collaboration is an initial step for both companies to develop a broader and more strategic cooperative relationship. Beyond focusing on banking transactions, the synergy is directed towards building a service ecosystem that provides added value for the companies, public transport users, and the wider community.

One form of future cooperation is the co-branding of the Multi-Trip Card (KMT) between bank bjb and KAI Commuter. Through this scheme, both companies can develop the KMT with shared identity and branding as part of strengthening the public transport payment ecosystem.

This co-branding development can be further supported through various activities, such as KMT top-up channels via the DIGI bank bjb application, loyalty programmes, and other activities developed based on the needs and agreements of both parties.

“Strengthening the digital payment ecosystem is also a focus in the cooperation plan between bank bjb and KAI Commuter. One way is through the development of KMT top-up services using the DIGI bank bjb application, providing the public with a more practical digital alternative to meet their travel needs using KAI Commuter services,” said Irwan in an official statement on Wednesday (16/9/2026).

On the other hand, bank bjb is also exploring the possibility of integrating DigiCash bank bjb as a Source of Fund (SoF) within the C-Access application. This integration is expected to expand funding options while providing a more seamless and integrated transaction experience for users.

Through these developments, the transaction ecosystem is expected to become more seamless, practical, and integrated. Simultaneously, the integration of digital services has the potential to drive an increase in digital transaction volumes and contribute to the growth of bank bjul’s fee-based income.

Beyond digital payments, the space for synergy between bank bjb and KAI Commuter is open in various other aspects, including fund management, payroll, customer acquisition, QRIS and merchants, loyalty programmes, corporate banking, and cash management.

The development of these various potentials indicates that the relationship between bank bjb and KAI Commuter has the potential to grow into a strategic partnership that provides commercial benefits while creating added value for both companies.

For bank bjb, this synergy is part of a strategy to continuously expand the reach of its products and services, particularly by entering ecosystems directly linked to community activities. Public transport is a strategic ecosystem due to its high intensity of daily interactions and transactions.

For KAI Commuter, support from the banking service ecosystem is expected to strengthen the quality of the user experience, particularly through ease of payment and the utilisation of digital services. This also supports KAI Commuter’s efforts to provide increasingly innovative, efficient, and integrated urban transport services.

As information, KAI Commuter serves a network of approximately 210 stations and has a rail network of about 609.38 kilometres connecting various strategic regions. These services cover the Jabodetabek, Merak, Greater Bandung, Garut, Yogyakarta-Palur, Surabaya, Walahar-Jatiluhur, and Soekarno-Hatta Airport areas.

Specifically for the Jabodetabek area, KAI Commuter’s KRL service is a backbone of urban mobility with a very large user volume, approximately 350 million passengers per year. The vast network and user base make KAI Commuter a vital part of the public transport ecosystem and offer great potential for the development of the digital transaction ecosystem.

“bank bjb views the synergy with KAI Commuter as a strategic step to build a mutually beneficial service ecosystem. This collaboration is expected not only to expand the reach of bank bjb’s products and services and strengthen the quality of KAI Commuter’s services, but also to provide transaction convenience and an even better service experience for the community,” he concluded.

Moving forward, bank bjb will continue to open opportunities for collaboration with various strategic partners to provide integrated financial solutions, strengthen digital transformation, and make a real contribution to economic growth and the improvement of community quality of life.
