Bank BJB Expands KUR PMI Financing Through Partnership with LPK Asta Karya
Bank BJB’s Jatinangor Branch has entered into a partnership with the Asta Karya Job Training Institute (LPK) to distribute and underwrite People’s Business Credit for Indonesian Migrant Workers (KUR PMI) facilities for students preparing for internship programmes in Japan. The signing of the Cooperation Agreement, which took place at the Jatinangor National Golf VIP Room in Sumedang Regency on Monday, 20 July 2026, represents a concrete step to expand access to productive financing while strengthening the competitiveness of Indonesian workers globally.
The collaboration with LPK Asta Karya is part of Bank BJB’s ongoing strategy to deliver financial services that provide tangible benefits to the regional economy, while also supporting the national development agenda through human resource enhancement. The agreement was attended by Bank BJB Regional 3 CEO Asep Wahyu Ismail, Jatinangor Branch Manager Gita Rostika, and LPK Asta Karya Chairman Muhamad Arif Ramadhan, among other officials. Bank BJB views the synergy between the banking sector and job training institutions as a crucial foundation for creating competent, professional Indonesian workers capable of competing in the international labour market.
Through this collaboration, Bank BJB provides KUR PMI facilities that offer easy, affordable, and targeted financing access for prospective participants in the Japanese internship programme. The financing scheme is expected to help participants meet pre-departure preparation costs, enabling them to complete all programme stages optimally without financial constraints. As a regional development bank that continues to innovate, Bank BJB considers improving human resource quality a long-term investment that will positively impact both regional and national economic growth.
This partnership also supports the government’s programme to increase the placement of Indonesian workers with international competencies through the Japanese internship pathway. The programme is a strategic effort to create superior human resources with global work experience, technical skills, and international-standard work ethics. Both parties also agreed to establish a structured, transparent, and accountable mechanism for distributing and underwriting the KUR PMI facilities, ensuring prospective participants have access to legal and reliable funding sources.
For Bank BJB, this collaboration is a strategic move to expand its productive financing portfolio, delivering direct economic impact to the community. The bank believes that well-targeted productive financing can accelerate productive sectors, boost economic activity, and strengthen the regional development ecosystem sustainably. Furthermore, the partnership is a tangible implementation of Bank BJB’s commitment to expanding financial inclusion, ensuring more people gain access to quality banking services. By supporting prospective Indonesian migrant workers, Bank BJB contributes to developing human resources who can serve as national ambassadors in the international job market while enhancing national competitiveness.
