Banjarmasin (ANTARA) - The Banjarmasin City Government in South Kalimantan is implementing a Work From Home (WFH) system for civil servants every Friday, in accordance with central government instructions. Acting Regional Secretary of Banjarmasin City, Dolly Sahbana, stated in Banjarmasin on Saturday (11/4) that they are following this policy as part of the central government’s energy efficiency initiatives. “We even started last Friday,” he explained. Dolly revealed that the implementation of WFH every Friday will be regulated through a legal framework in the form of a Circular Letter (SE) from the Mayor of Banjarmasin. “Currently, that SE is in the finalisation stage. It is ensured that all technical aspects have been prepared at the level of Work Units of Regional Apparatus (SKPD),” he said. Technically, the WFH implementation will be regulated, starting from digital attendance, performance measurement, to the employee evaluation system during WFH. “So it’s just about the execution, including supervision and evaluation,” he stated. Through this policy, the Banjarmasin City Government hopes to achieve energy usage efficiency without reducing the productivity of civil servants or the quality of public services. Meanwhile, the Head of the Organisation Section of the Banjarmasin City Regional Secretariat, Eka Rahayu Normasari, explained that this policy has strict limitations, especially for civil servants who directly interact with public services. Structural officials such as echelon II, III, including High Leadership Positions (JPT) and Functional Positions (JF), are still required to come to the office as usual every Friday. “WFH only applies to staff who do not deal with public services. For echelon II, III officials, JPT, and JF, they still have to come in like a normal working day. So there is no WFH implementation for them,” she said.
