The Banjar Police Resort in West Java has introduced a thematic service concept featuring a Gundam Robot at an integrated station at Banjar City Square during the 2026 Ketupat Lodaya Operation to create a more welcoming atmosphere for members of the public resting during their mudik (homecoming) journey.

Police Chief of Banjar AKBP Didi Dewantoro, S.I.K., S.H., M.A.P. stated that the concept was developed to make the police service station feel closer and less formal to the public. “This robot is really just to attract people around the integrated station, so that the police station doesn’t feel intimidating,” said Didi Dewantoro to ANTARA at the integrated station on Monday.

He explained that a replica Gundam Robot has been installed in the integrated station area, which can serve as an attraction for visitors, especially children, who wish to rest and take photographs. Additionally, the police plan to introduce a Bumblebee Robot as an additional attraction at the location.

According to him, this approach is part of the police effort to provide more humanised service to the public during the Lebaran mudik period. At the integrated station location, the police also provide various entertainment activities for travellers who stop to rest.

“We have prepared activities such as film screenings, and after evening prayers there will be acoustic bands to entertain travellers who may be tired from their journey,” said Didi. He added that these various activities are expected to create a more comfortable atmosphere for travellers passing through Banjar City, particularly for those heading to the Pangandaran tourist area or Central Java region.

In addition to entertainment, the integrated station also provides various service facilities including health services, traffic flow information from the Department of Transportation through a CCTV monitoring centre, rest areas, free massage, and a children’s play area.
