The Bangli Regency Government (Pemkab Bangli) has allocated funds amounting to more than Rp 4.2 billion for the protection of workers. A total of 1,473 workers in Bangli will receive protection through the payment of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan contributions from these funds.

“Protection for 1,473 vulnerable workers in Bangli Regency in the 2026 Regional Budget. For 1,473 vulnerable workers with a budget amount of Rp 296,956,800,” said the Head of the Cooperative, SME, and Labour Office of Bangli, Ni Luh Ketut Wardani, when contacted by detikBali on Friday (24/4/2026).

Wardani stated that the hundreds of millions in funds from Bangli’s Regional Budget will provide protection for thousands of workers for 12 months or one year. All 1,473 workers have been registered in the data of the East Bali Branch of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan.

“The BPJS Ketenagakerjaan protection applies for 12 months,” said Wardani.

Wardani mentioned that the Rp 296 million allocated from Bangli’s Regional Budget is not the only funding. Funds amounting to Rp 4 billion were obtained by Pemkab Bangli from the Bali Provincial Government.

Therefore, three regional apparatus organisations have been asked to facilitate BPJS participation for these thousands of workers. The Bangli Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Office (DPMPTSP) has been asked to cut bureaucratic and licensing processes that hinder workers from registering as BPJS Ketenagakerjaan participants.

The Bangli Public Works and Public Housing Office (PUPR) has also been instructed to ensure that all workers equip themselves with all social security guarantees. Meanwhile, the Bangli Social Office has been asked to ensure that the BPJS Ketenagakerjaan assistance is received by eligible workers.

“Intensive coordination with the Provincial Government has also yielded sweet results in the form of additional budget support of Rp 4 billion to expand the coverage of social security protection in Bangli,” she said.

The Head of the East Bali Branch of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, Venina, stated that there are several benefits obtained by the participants. The main benefits of the Work Accident Insurance (JKK) Programme include fully covered medical costs without a ceiling limit until complete recovery.

STMB compensation to replace 100% of wages for one year for workers undergoing treatment. As well as economic resilience by ensuring that workers’ families still have financial support even if the head of the family temporarily loses productivity.

“Ensuring that workers’ families still have financial support even if the head of the family temporarily loses productivity,” said Venina.
