Bangli, Bali (ANTARA) – Bangli Regency’s Regent, Sang Nyoman Sedana Arta, has stressed that interfaith harmony is the main foundation of development and progress as Ramadhan is observed and Eid al-Fitr 2026 approaches. ‘There is only one thing we can hope for: that we join hands and maintain the bonds of silaturahim,’ the Regent said during a Ramadan break-fast gathering in Bangli, Bali, on Friday. Therefore, in this auspicious moment of breaking fast with Muslims in the district during Ramadhan, it is an appropriate time to strengthen harmony. The Regent hopes the fasting moment serves as a means for Muslims to achieve victory over their own desires. Moreover, amid extreme weather and the dynamic geopolitical crisis, the Regent urged the community not to be easily divided. ‘In essence, life has the same purpose, namely to strive for perfection,’ added Sedana Arta. Separately, the Bangli Regency Government expressed appreciation for the active role of people from diverse religious backgrounds contributing to local development as a key to Bangli’s ability to compete with other regions. Meanwhile, Haji Nasrudin, a Bangli Islamic community leader, expressed appreciation to the regional government. He said the activity is not merely an annual ceremonial event but authentic evidence of the strength of tolerance in Bangli. ‘We are very grateful to the Regent and the officials. This moment is concrete proof that in Bangli, we are all brothers who respect one another within the framework of religious moderation,’ Nasrudin said. The event was also attended by Bangli’s Vice Regent I Wayan Diar, the Forum Koordinasi Pimpinan Daerah Kabupaten Bangli, the Bangli Regional Secretary, and leaders of regional devices within the Bangli Regency, as well as other community leaders.
