Bangli Regency Government Supports Regional Agencies to Enhance Public Transparency

Bangli, Bali – The Bangli Regency Government is providing support to regional apparatus agencies (OPDs) to enhance public information transparency.

‘We are committed to updating and improving the performance of websites and agency sub-domains from June 2026 onwards to prepare for evaluations,’ said I Nyoman Murditha, Head of Bangli’s Communication, Informatics and Cryptography Agency (Diskominfosan), during a public information transparency socialisation at the Bangli Regency Office on Tuesday.

According to him, the support is targeted at OPDs classified as ‘less informative’ or ‘moving towards informative’.

The agency has prepared tactical steps, including requiring OPDs without a Public Information and Documentation Officer (PPID) to establish one immediately.

During the forum, the Bali Information Commission (KI Bali) presented the results of its 2025 Public Information Transparency (KIP) monitoring and evaluation.

However, some regional agencies remain in the ‘not informative’ category.

He added that transparency is essential in the digital era as citizens now actively seek government information directly via mobile phones.

‘The public is highly critical and actively seeks government information through their mobile devices. It is our duty as public bodies using state funds to meet the public’s right to know,’ he said.

Meanwhile, the Bali Provincial Information Commission urges all public bodies in Bangli Regency to improve information openness to strengthen public trust.

Transparency is crucial to closing loopholes for misconduct and preventing corruption.

‘Information openness is critical to closing loopholes for misconduct. We do not want the wave of legal actions against regional leaders seen nationally in early 2026 to occur in Bali, especially in Bangli,’ he stated.

To drive improvements, KI Bali has sent a letter requesting an audience with the Bangli Regent, targeting all OPDs to upgrade to ‘informative’ status by 2026.

‘We hope through this 2026 socialisation, all OPDs in Bangli can improve. Our target is clear: agencies still in the ‘less informative’ or ‘not informative’ categories must upgrade to ‘informative’ status this year,’ he added.

Additionally, academics from Udayana University, I Made Budi Arsika and I Made Agus Wirajaya from the Bali Information Openness Network, discussed legal aspects and public roles in information digitalisation.
