Bangli Regency equips civil servants with instruments to prevent corruption

The Bangli Regency Government in Bali is equipping its civil servants (ASN) with three key instruments to prevent corruption: a reporting channel, gratification control, and integrity assessments. Regional Inspector of Bangli Regency, Jero Penyarikan A. Widata, stated during an anti-corruption awareness session in Bangli on Wednesday that every official bears a moral responsibility to maintain public trust through clean, transparent, and accountable governance. His team is visiting all regional apparatus organisations (OPD) and local government work units to warn them against becoming entangled in corruption cases. On this occasion, ASN at the Bangli Regency Communication, Informatics, and Encryption Agency (Kominfosan) received guidance on preventing corruption. He explained that the Bangli Regency Government provides a channel for reporting suspected abuse of authority and criminal acts of corruption, managed by the Bangli Regency Inspectorate at https//wbsbangli.djinggamedia.com. The system guarantees protection of the whistleblower’s identity, which is expected to encourage active participation from both ASN and the public in overseeing clean governance. The agency also emphasised gratification control, starting from recognising forms of gratification related to official positions and potential conflicts of interest. Additionally, it covered the mechanism for reporting unavoidable gratuities through the online gratification application (GOL) from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and the Bangli Regency Gratification Control Unit (UPG). The ASN were also briefed on the Integrity Assessment Survey (SPI) conducted by the KPK. This survey is considered a strategic instrument for mapping corruption risks, identifying vulnerable points in governance, and serving as a basis for formulating continuous system improvements. Meanwhile, Head of the Bangli Regency Communication, Informatics, and Encryption Agency, I Nyoman Murditha, stressed the importance of all officials understanding integrity in governance. He assessed that strengthening an anti-corruption culture aligns with the development of the Electronic-Based Government System (SPBE) and public information transparency that the Bangli Regency Government has been developing. ‘The utilisation of digital technology is believed to increase transparency, reduce potential conflicts of interest, and narrow the space for corrupt practices in public services,’ he said.
