Bangladesh's independence day

JAKARTA (JP): Bangladesh's embassy in Jakarta will hold a flag
hoisting ceremony on Sunday to commemorate the 24th anniversary
of the country's independence.

The ceremony will be held at the embassy's chancery premises
on Jl. Denpasar Raya No. 3, Kuningan, South Jakarta, by
Ambassador A.K.M. Farooq in the presence of embassy officials and
Bangladeshi expatriates living in the city.

The ceremony will be followed by a cultural program and a
discussion of the significance of independence day.

A special prayer will be offered for the salvation of the
martyrs, who laid down their lives to liberate the country. (hhr)
