Bangka regency sells rice cheap

BANGKA, South Sumatra: To help low-income families cope with
the rising prices of basic commodities, Bangka regency
distributed 132 tons of rice at a rock bottom prices yesterday.

Antara reported that the rice was sold at just Rp 500 per
kilogram, with each family allotted 15 kilograms.

"We should learn from the hardships we now face and stand
side-by-side to help each other," said Bangka regent Bustan Halik
of the program which covers 22 districts.
