Bangka Regency Government Supports PP Tunas to Prepare a Quality Generation
Sungailiat - The Bangka Regency Government in Bangka Belitung Islands Province fully supports the implementation of the government regulation (PP) Tunas by the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Komdigi), as it is believed to prepare a quality Indonesian generation. “We fully support the implementation of the government regulation on the governance of electronic systems in child protection,” said Bangka Regent Fery Insani in Sungailiat on Monday, in response to the implementation of PP Tunas. He assessed that regulations on social media use or deactivation of accounts for children under 16 years old on digital platforms will have a positive impact on child protection in the digital realm. “I am optimistic that with the regulation limiting social media accounts among children, the time previously spent playing with gadgets can be redirected towards learning,” he said. “However, parents at home must still play a role in supervising or providing guidance at home so that children diligently study,” said Fery Insani. The government introduced PP Tunas to protect children in the digital space, including when they use social media, online games, and other digital services. PP Tunas is not only a rule that restricts children’s accounts but also a regulation that requires electronic system providers to create services that are safe for child users. “Restricting children’s digital space can be redirected by engaging in various more positive activities, such as honing skills according to the child’s talents and abilities,” stated the Bangka Regent.
