Bangka Hajj and Umrah Ministry Office Receives Two Hajj Candidates on Transfer
Sungailiat (ANTARA) - The Hajj and Umrah Ministry (Kemenhaj) Office in Bangka Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands Province, has received a transfer of two hajj candidates for 2026 from Riau Silip Subdistrict and Z Village, Mendo Barat Subdistrict.
“The transfer of these two prospective hajj pilgrims is because the original candidates passed away and are being replaced by their children,” said Hajj and Umrah Service Officer Dewi Sartika at the Bangka Regency Kemenhaj Office in Sungailiat on Wednesday.
She stated that the two transferred hajj candidates have completed their documents, such as passports and visas, as well as other documents, because the recipients had already prepared the documents before their parents passed away.
“A total of 289 hajj candidates from Bangka Regency are recorded to enter the Pangkal Pinang Hajj Dormitory on 1 May and will be flown to the Holy Land, Mecca, on 2 May 2026 via the Palembang Embarkation, South Sumatra,” she said.
Hundreds of these hajj candidates, she added, will join flight group (kloter) 8 and kloter 9, including two squads in kloter 9 who will join hajj candidates from Palembang City.
“All preparations for the hajj candidates are sufficiently mature, including logistical completeness such as suitcases that have been handed over to all hajj candidates,” she said.
She reminded the hajj candidates to continue maintaining their health as the departure time is only a few weeks away.
“The health of all hajj candidates must be truly prioritised because it is known that the hajj pilgrimage is a spiritual journey to a distant holy place,” said Dewi Sartika.
There is one youngest hajj candidate named Siti Nurazizah from Bukit Layang Village, Bakam Subdistrict, aged 16 years, and the oldest hajj candidate aged approximately 86 years.
Hajj Supervisor at the Bangka Kemenhaj Office, Zahwan, is optimistic that the hajj candidates are ready, including in terms of fiqh knowledge, as they first received technical guidance on hajj worship before departure.
