Bangka Belitung provincial government distributes Islamic alms through Ramadan outreach programme

ANTARA – A total of 37 orphans and underprivileged children in the Bangka Belitung Islands received zakat (Islamic alms) from the provincial government. The aid, in the form of religious clothing and Rp220,000 in cash, was distributed ahead of Ramadan. This distribution is part of the Babel Provincial Government’s Ramadan Safari programme. The government stated that zakat is an obligation that must be distributed to those in need.
