Bangka Belitung Police Intensify Patrols During Ramadan
Pangkalpinang (ANTARA) — The Bangka Belitung Islands Provincial Police are intensifying coordination and patrols to ensure security, order and public comfort during the holy month of Ramadan 2026.
“We are stepping up coordination among stakeholders and patrols to maintain public order during this fasting month of Ramadan,” said Bangka Belitung Islands Police Chief Inspector General Viktor T Sihombing during a public order readiness parade in Pangkalpinang on Monday.
He emphasised that during Ramadan, the Bangka Belitung Islands Police are strengthening synergy with the Indonesian Military (TNI), regional governments and relevant stakeholders to fulfil their shared commitment to keeping the Bumi Serumpun Sebalai region safe, orderly and conducive.
“I stress the importance of securing vulnerable routes prone to traffic congestion, crime and illegal street racing, given the increase in activity during Ramadan,” he said.
He called on the entire community, including all personnel at the parade, to exercise wisdom in receiving any circulating information or news.
“Please map out locations of public gathering centres, deploy patrols during hours prone to brawls and illegal street racing, and carry out market operations to safeguard the availability and price stability of basic commodities for the public,” he said.
He expressed appreciation for the execution of duties that have been carried out so far during Ramadan.
“Preparing oneself and equipment as well as maintaining health are important, but the most crucial thing is maintaining synergy and good relations with the TNI, regional government and all relevant stakeholders,” he said.
