Bandung's Hasan Sadikin Hospital Forms Specialist Team to Treat Alleged Captivity Victim YTR
Hasan Sadikin Hospital (RSHS) in Bandung, West Java, has provided an update on the current condition of YTR, a victim of confinement and physical abuse. It was reported that YTR is now able to communicate, consume food, and sit up.
“Regarding their psychological state, the individual is now able to converse, eat, and sit up,” stated a representative, as quoted from a TvOne YouTube broadcast on Friday, 26 June 2026.
Currently, RSHS Bandung is focusing on the recovery process, which includes wound cleaning, nutritional improvement, and psychological rehabilitation.
“Wound cleaning has been performed, and we are currently focusing on improving their general nutritional status and psychological well-being,” the representative added.
Fitra noted that RSHS has formed a special team to handle YTR’s case. This team comprises plastic surgeons, ophthalmologists, nutritionists, and other specialists.
“Under the direction of the RSHS Director, we have formed a team including plastic surgery, ophthalmology, nutrition, and other doctors. We are ensuring a truly comprehensive approach, as RSHS, acting as a national referral hospital, is also being assisted by the health office,” they said.
Regarding the estimated recovery period for YTR, the hospital has not yet been able to provide a definitive timeline. The current priority remains addressing the psychological and nutritional needs of the victim of the confinement and abuse.
“We are focusing on general recovery first. We cannot yet confirm how long it will take, but we will continue to work on restoring both their psychological and nutritional health until they have fully recovered,” the representative continued.
As background, a woman from Rancaekek, Bandung Regency, West Java, is alleged to be the victim of confinement and abuse by her partner. The woman, identified by the initials YTR, was allegedly held captive by the perpetrator, identified as Taufik Hidayat, in a boarding house room, and had been reported missing by her family for three years.
After the victim had previously introduced her partner to her parents, the family lost contact with YTR for several years. She has now been found in a distressing condition, suffering from severe injuries due to the alleged confinement and abuse.
Taufik Hidayat, the perpetrator, was arrested by a joint team from the West Java Regional Police on Tuesday night, 23 June 2026. The West Java Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Rudi Setiawan, revealed that the perpetrator was apprehended at a residential area in the Ciparay District, Bandung, West Java, at approximately 6:30 PM WIB on Tuesday.
