Bandung Vice Mayor Erwin's Corruption Case Dropped, Suspect Status Revoked
The Bandung Prosecutor’s Office has decided to halt the investigation into allegations of corruption against Vice Mayor Erwin. Consequently, Erwin’s suspect status has been revoked.
As is known, Erwin was named a suspect along with a member of the Bandung City DPRD and Chairman of the Bandung City NasDem Party, Rendiana Awangga. Both were named suspects on December 9, 2025.
“I would like to convey the latest developments regarding the alleged corruption involving suspects Erwin and Rendiana Awangga. We have conducted several case reviews, and we have concluded that there is no concrete evidence of financial flows involving the suspects,” said the Head of the Bandung City Prosecutor’s Office, Abun Hasbullah Sambas, as reported by detikJabar, Wednesday (3/6/2026).
In this case, Erwin was suspected of collaborating with Rendiana Awangga. Both were allegedly misusing their authority by requesting projects and influencing the winners of tenders in several Organizational Units of the Bandung City Government.
According to Abun, investigators have examined 3 experts and 89 witnesses in this case. However, from the in-depth investigation, investigators found no elements of a criminal offense in the corruption case allegedly committed by Erwin and Awangga.
“Regarding this case, it does not meet the elements of a corruption offense. We agreed to halt the case, and if in the future there are additional witnesses, we will reopen it,” he said.
“The termination of this case also revokes the suspect status of both individuals,” he concluded.
