Bandung Transportation Agency Predicts Return Traffic Peak on Nagreg Route Today
Bandung (ANTARA) - The Bandung Regency Transportation Agency predicts the peak return traffic on the Nagreg route from both Garut and Tasikmalaya directions will occur on Tuesday (24/3), coinciding with the last day of the joint leave period. The Public Relations Coordinator of the Lebaran Security Post at the Bandung Regency Transportation Agency, Eric Alam Prabowo, stated that vehicle traffic returning towards Bandung has already begun to increase since this morning. “The first peak is estimated to occur today, coinciding with the last day of the holiday before returning to work,” said Eric in Bandung. He explained that the return traffic on the Nagreg route is predicted to happen in two waves. Besides the first peak today, the second peak is expected on Saturday (28/3) and Sunday (29/3). Meanwhile, the Director of Community Guidance at West Java Police, Senior Commissioner Pol Wadi Sa’bani, said that they will implement a segmented one-way strategy on the southern route, particularly from Tasikmalaya and Garut towards Bandung. He stated that this system is deemed effective for alleviating vehicle density on routes with many bends, inclines, and declines. “We implement one-way segments when slowdowns occur to keep vehicle traffic flowing,” he said. “We divert sections or pull back vehicles or queues that are snaking or extending towards Tasikmalaya,” he added.
